Berger Southwest Nationals Kicks off Today

Shooters from all over the southwest will descend on the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix Arizona today to begin four days of intense competition. Day one will start with 3 strings of twenty shots for record at 600 yards. Tomorrow the course competition begins with an 800 point agg followed by a 1000 point agg on Saturday and another 800 agg on Sunday. Daytime temps will hover near 95 degress. The winds can be fickle this time of year. As the desert landscape heats up the winds near the range can be whipped into a frenzy, testing all who think the wind is their friend. I will have todays scores and more later this evening.
This will be the first year for the 260 shot course format. For last years results click here

If you haven't see Bryan Litz's great video from the Berger Long Range Nationals earlier this year click here Keep your eye on target 72 when the video starts!
